Director/Editor/Camera

Sam Sharples is a filmmaker, director, cinematographer and editor. He has a broad range of work, from feature films, documentaries, theatre projections, installations, performance and more experimental shorts.

In 2019 he edited ‘Identity’, a portrait of the singer Poly Styrene from the band X-Ray Specs Directed by Richard Heslop. In 2021 he finished working on “The Romance of Bricks” a documentary portrait of the Artist Liz Finch Directed by Nichola Bruce. Alongside these films he continues to make music videos for Susheela Raman with photographer/director Andrew Catlin. 


More recently in 2022, he was the video designer for the Makropulos Affair for the Welsh National Opera with Director Olivia Fuchs and set designer Nicola Turner. He is currently finishing the edit of a documentary on the artist Jacqueline Stanley with Nichola Bruce.
